We present to you the redesigned Supervisor and Practice Manager 2020 (SPM20) conference, Better in Bits.

Better in Bits brings SPM20 to you in bite-sized pieces, with a jam-packed program full of engaging online workshops and regionally based events. Running from July to December, the online workshops focus on several different topics from teaching consulting and procedural skills, to college exams and identifying struggling registrars. We’ve gone Australia-wide for these workshops with presenters hailing from WAGPET, GP Synergy and Northern Territory General Practice Education (NTGPE). Better in bits also brings the conference gala dinner to your front door. Held in your region, this evening event combines elements of education, networking and an opportunity to relax with peers. The best part? You get to pick what educational topic you’d like presented. These sessions will be run from September to November. Your program training advisor will in touch within the coming months with more details.Don't forget, the program launches next week with the Early Saftey Assessment webinar!

Tune in Tuesday, 4 August from 6.30pm for the first edition of the webinar series. The topic? The Early Safety Assessment.

In semester one of 2020, WAGPET introduced a new requirement for GPT1/PRRT1 registrars, the early safety assessment. This evaluated safety in registrars’ first few weeks of general practice, and combined a number of elements, including a set of “safety questions” completed by the regional medical educator at the first ECT visit. In semester two, the assessment will be extended to include safety questions completed by supervisors (combined with the direct observation assessment) at week four.

This webinar will discuss the purpose and format of the early safety assessment and review the evaluation findings from semester one 2020. It will give valuable context and discussion for supervisors training GPT1/PRRT1 registrars.
