Applied Surgical Pathway in Rural Environments
ASPIRE is a two year program for WACHS junior doctors who are interested in General Surgery. Successful candidates will:
· complete General Practice Additional Skills training in general surgery with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), or the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) leading to them becoming a GP Surgeon.
· be well placed to apply for the General Surgical Training Program with the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (RACS).
Successful applicants will be provided with a two year employment contract with WACHS, commencing as a RMO and progressing to a Registrar, subject to satisfactory performance. Each candidate will rotate between Albany Health Campus and Bunbury Hospital, gaining essential experience in various surgical departments.
