RACGP Registrar Series - ENT

Enrol

Developed specifically for GP registrars, this interactive session has been created to enhance your skills in the clinical assessment and management of a wide range of ENT conditions. This workshop will improve your ability to assess, accurately diagnose, appropriately treat and identify when to refer. This workshop will also assist GPs in recognising red flag symptoms and addressing complications. Ear, nose and throat problems, especially in children, account for a high percentage of clinical presentations.

The management of chronic and recurrent conditions can prove challenging, as can identifying when an ENT presentation constitutes an emergency. ARS and CRS have a significant quality of life impact on patients. As the rate of sinusitis related presentations is as high as 1.4 in every 100 GP visits, rapid and accurate diagnosis and effective management is essential. Through case study discussions, ENT Surgeon Dr Chady Sader, examines ARS, CRS and nasal polyps, OSA, AOM and CSOM, tonsillitis and more. This workshop also investigates a range of head and neck masses found in the thyroid and salivary glands.

Learning outcomes include:

  1. Identify how to manage and refer tonsillitis appropriately.
  2. Recognise and manage the common ear conditions in children.
  3. Identify how to manage a perforated ear drum appropriately.
  4. Create a simple checklist for the management of ARS, CRS and nasal polyps.
  5. Discuss the investigation of lesions of the head and neck, salivary glands and thyroid.

Light refreshments will be provided. Cost is $30 for members and $40 for non-members. For more information and to register, please click here.
