Language of Safety workshop


WAGPET is excited to be trialling a new workshop with international facilitator Di Margetts, the creator of the Language of Safety.

Held at our Bentley office on Saturday, 21 July 2018 from 9am to 3pm.

This innovative workshop will build on the concept of safe consultation practices. You will develop skills in using language as a strategy to facilitate cultural and patient safety.

If you are a registrar who wants to know more about ways you can build trust with your patients and help them feel safe, this workshop is for you!

A must have dynamic and effective skill for those interested in working with Aboriginal and culturally diverse people.

Topics covered at the workshop include:

  • identify quality of language
  • understand how language affects a person's self-concept
  • how language can influence interactions
  • language as a key component in environments of safety, particularly cultural safety
  • show the language of safety will help you and your patients feel safe.
