GP Education - Gynaecology for good GPs

St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital invites general practitioners to the GP Education event: Gynaecology for good GPs.

Four experienced Gynaecolgists will renew and refresh GPs knowledge of these common gynaecological problems that present in general practice.

  • Endometriosis – early diagnosis and comprehensive management: Dr Charles Armstrong
  • Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome update: Dr Pierre Smith
  • Preconception and early pregnancy genetic screening - Dr Joo Teoh 
  • Ovarian Failure and HRT: Together forever or forever to Part?: Dr Ken Nathan

Learning outcomes

After attending this education session you will be able to:

  1. Outline the benefits and risks of HRT
  2. Create a checklist of symptoms that can be used to assist with the earlier diagnosis of endometriosis in patients. (systems approach)
  3. Apply important components of counselling regarding pre-conception genetic screening
  4. Outline management options for patients with PCOS
  5. Outline current diagnostic criteria for PCOS (systems approach)
