The winner of the 2017 WAGPET Training Facility of the Year award, Lockridge Medical Centre, has been heavily involved in the teaching and training of medical students and GP registrars for 40 years. The practice has played an important role in training the next generation of doctors and are a true embodiment of their practice mission statement - "to teach the art and discipline of primary health care".
The practice is located in the outer metro area, east of Perth and provides a comprehensive medical service with GPs, nurses, allied health specialists and psychology specialists. They say their biggest asset is their team, who are full of wisdom, patience and energy, always placing care for community first.
At the practice, you'll find six consulting rooms, one nurse-led clinic, on-site pathology and a waiting room full of patients.
The team at Lockridge Medical Centre provide well-rounded support for their GP registrars. From the passionate team of GP supervisors, who have extensive years of teaching experience behind them. To the practice nurses who are an excellent in practice resource and the administrative team, who provide a comprehensive and methodical introduction to the practice's policies and procedures. They always working hard to assist registrars in maintaining a work-life balance between rosters, study and home.
