Two decades. A mission to support doctors to work and train where they are needed most. Over 1300 GPs fellowed.
All trained by WAGPET and working in the community.
WAGPET acknowledged a significant milestone this year – 20 years of training GP registrars to work in WA communities. 2022 also marks WAGPET’s last full year as the deliverer of the Australia General Practice Training program in Western Australia.
From February 2023, GP training delivery will be managed by both GP colleges, Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). Our organisation is ready to hand over custodianship of this important work.
The 2021/22 year has been one of change readiness and transition preparation. It has also been a year of improvement across several key performance measures.
