MyGP in the Great Southern Region
Launching in the Great Southern region, the MyGP campaign celebrates the impact of GPs in the regions.
To kick off the campaign, WAGPET visited the Great Southern region to celebrate the huge contribution that GPs have made. Over the past 15 years, the towns and the people of the Great Southern have been host, mentor and friend to nearly 150 GP registrars, who have gone on to become outstanding GPs.
WAGPET hosted a dinner for our GP registrars and supervisors, as well as general practitioners and general practice staff in the region. The dinner, hosted at the picturesque Albany Entertainment Centre, was to celebrate the enormous contribution each person has made to developing Western Australia’s next generation of GPs. Thank you for all of those who attended and celebrated with WAGPET!
The following day members of the WAGPET team visited the local mall to talk to the community about why their GP is important to them. It was very rewarding talking to the community and hearing the wonderful things they had to say.
“My doctor is very thoughtful, and does listen to everything I say and ask. I can’t say enough about her” – Mara
The final stop was Albany Health Campus to talk to some eager junior doctors about where are career in general practice could take them.
Thank you to everyone in Great Southern region not only for you huge contribution to GP training, but also for welcoming WAGPET into your community.
To kick-start our 2018 celebrations, the MyGP campaign is visiting the Mid-West!
